I'm trying to add a "spoilered-ish" memo to the top of the Staff Only section on my board (It's for a "Rules of Moderation" guideline) that I don't want to be a "posted thread".
But there's a problem. Somehow it causes the ads to be hidden too... but they DON'T come back. Here's the code:
I know that blocking ads is a ToS violation, so I'm trying to figure out how and why this blocks ads... and how to stop it from doing that.
For now, I have the whole thing "commented out" in the subform header that it's sitting in, so it's basically not running at all.
Any help at fixing this would be greatly appreciated!
ETA: I got the code from here: www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/showthread.php?66526-html-spoiler-code
Just the spoiler code itself is this:
To cause the page to load with the whole thing "closed", I did change this line from this:

We moderate as a team. However, with different time zones, schedules, etc., it is not always practical to wait for a vote to be called. Because of this, when a Moderator sees a rule violation which they feel needs to be addressed immediately, they should do so. Suggestions for handling it include
<br>
<br>
• Issuing a general warning in a thread for violations to stop.<br>• Warning all participating parties directly to stop.<br>• Locking of thread.
<br>
• Issuing a Temp Ban (extreme cases only).
<br>
<br>
For larger issues or ones that are in questionable territory, the situation will be discussed and voted on the Moderators section.
<br>
In those instances,
<br>
<br>
• Each Moderator has one equally weighted vote. In the event of a tie, the decision will land on the side of the Moderator in the Admin seat.
<br>
• If there is no tie, a majority vote is needed to “win.”<br>• Moderator(s) on the “losing” side do not have to take part in handing out the punishment (i.e., adjusting the warning level, sending a message, issuing a ban, etc.), but they must present a united front to board members.
<br>
<br>
Punishments
<br>
<br>
Punishments are to be issued for rules infractions. If a Moderator feels the situation warrants leniency in the punishment process, they can present their view to the other moderators along with a proposed “alternate punishment” and call for a vote. The alternate punishment cannot be to render no punishment, and a majority vote is needed to carry it out.
<br>
<br>
Any time a warning or punishment is issued, it must be documented in the appropriate thread in the Moderators section.
<br>
<br>
Information pertinent to an issue with a board member must be made known to all Moderators, including information sent via PM. In instances involving sensitive or otherwise personal information, those parts can be redacted at the Moderator’s discretion.
<br>
<br>
Time Away
<br>
<br>
If you plan on a vacation or long absence, you must post a thread in the Staff area stating a time frame. You will also need to include which Moderator will vote on your behalf in your absences. Failure to name a proxy will result in no vote.
<br>
<br>
Absences of over three months that are not posted in the Staff area will result in an automatic removal of Moderator status.
<br>
<br>
If the moderator with an absence over 3 months is also in the Admin seat,and they do not return after 6 months, the remaining moderators should initiate the process outlined in the <a target="_blank" rel="norewrite" href="http://buildinggreatness.proboards.com/thread/1065/transfer-admin-powers-case-needed"> "Transfer of Administrative Power"</a> thread.
