how can i increase the length of the subject title?

The thread subject character limit is hard-coded and cannot be increased.

you can try this plugin, but it has some restrictions:

1. at this time, plugins only affect the desktop view of forums. any user viewing the forum using mobile view will not be affected by the plugin (note: as long as anyone on a mobile device switches to 'desktop' view, the plugin should affect them; until v6 is released [no ETA on that, sorry!] that will have to be a conscious choice made by the user)

2. the amount of data you can store is limited by how much data the plugin can store

3. similar to #1, anyone with javascript disabled will be unaffected by the plugin
