Yes I'm aware that there is a plugin similar to this, however given it lacks the storage space I need I'm putting this request out here.
What I'm looking for - and I'll admit I've been hypothesising ways to get around the problem of storage - is as follows.
Either in profile or on the post page a member has an option to 'store' a templates code, and optionally an image that represents it. This could equally be done using a thread as storage and possibly some magic with local storage or something.
Then when they click on post a new thread or reply to a post it should look something like this (note I -have- customized my post page layout)
Additional clarification: The above are showing my customized layout for the posting page where much of the HTML is already there.
By default the display should always append to just after the post area adding in a slot between Thread Summary and Posting area, however this should be over ridden if the user chooses to specify a different place to append.
Equally while I would prefer the layout I indicated for the posting template display, it should be able to be set up maybe by some type of templating variable, but always working with image (which is an optional addition), the codeblock and the button to highlight the code for easy selection.
