Hi. I recently made a new forum : thedawnfanclub.freeforums.netI know you need to advertise them a lot. But how do you advertise it without spamming or annoying people? Thanks one example is, which is what a lot of proboards jcink forums do, is have an advertising section up and available for guests to post in.... so people can post an ad about their forum on each others forums basically , to advertise.... it is little exposure really but better than nothing i guess and definitely not annoying |

Usually just being active on other sites and making sure your profile shows off your link. There's also forum directory sites you can check out. It's been a hot minute since I've been on there but it's helped in the past. Personally, my current site is still under works, but I know I'll be using them once I get up and running. They allow you to advertise on their forums and it's like a mass library of different forums that people can check out.

It really helps to create a list of all the places that you've advertised on so that you know whether you've been there or not! Especially so if you plan on having other people help you advertise. You might know where you've posted one but they don't.
Another good way to post ads is to find topsites that cater to your type of site and post your banner there.
