As you can see in the photo above the border is not going above the word 'subject'. How can I go about fixing that? TIA!!

Go to Admin > Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS, click the "Style Sheet" tab, and in the code area find this selector:
table.list > thead > tr > th, table.list > tbody > tr > td There should be a property within the declaration block that looks like this:
border-width: 0px @lists_inner_border_width @lists_inner_border_width 0px; Change it to:
border-width: 1px @lists_inner_border_width @lists_inner_border_width 0px;

elli So it worked and all but I noticed this last night on the homepage that thick border part. How can I fix that part? I'm using 2px for the border. It just shows up on the homepage. All the other borders seem to be fine. I really appreciate the help!

Ah, sorry, I forgot that that selector also gets the board list.
So, change the border style back to what it was, and find this selector in the stylesheet:
.threads table.list Create a new line below it, paste this:
.threads table.list > thead > tr > th { border-top-width: 1px; }
