I stepped away from forums for a while (a year or so) when life got busy, however, now that i have free time again i've been debating on once again admining a rp forum.
I've been asking around trying to gauge interest, so;
Would anyone out there be interested in an 'epic fantasy' rpg? Something akin to Witcher, Lotr, Game of thrones, or pathfinder?
A vast world full of magic, mystery, monsters, and treasure.
Id be kinda "dungeon delve-y", mainly member driven with some neat site evens and site wide mini-plots. Definately a decent bit of lore, myths, and legends to inspire and flesh out the world - perhaps even thr occasional major site plot pulled from it (based on member threads?).
Basically a monster hunter, quest filled, exploration rp;
I know its a pretty bare bones explination, but i figured id see if people were interested before i threw a wholw bunch of time into fleshing it out.

Bare-bones isn't something you have to worry about at this stage. Things will flesh out especially as you'd start writing up the scenery and history for the plot. But on the note of your thread topic, I'm not sure if you're asking the right question. Interest is important, surely. There's no point in building up a forum if there's no one who'd want to join. However, interest alone, isn't going to keep a forum alive. Honestly, I don't want to deter you. I love your ideas to include site events and incorporate site-wide mini-plots into the full game! Implementing those kinds of things point to an engaging admin who cares about his/her site and the members who decide to join the community. If you could keep that up throughout the life of your forum and not just at the beginning, that'd be amazing! It's just I've seen a number of forums fade not because the interest faded, but because the admin ceased to maintain and engage with their members. As for the interest, I know I like the idea! I've always been drawn to the fantasy genre and now, especially, the epic adventure fantasies. Sprinkle in a little mystery and I'm golden. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to join another forum at the moment. I have at least one to revive. At the same time, we never know. I might just be in the market when you're open.

Thanks for the reply!
Perhaps your right when it comes to me not asking the right questions XD After all i image that the old saying of "if you make it theyll come" is tried and true (lol).
I did intend on keeping up said mini plots throught - ive been a part of too many site who either only had a very basic plot (and died out due to people losing interest at the lack of ability to progress it) or sites with no plot (that died because members burnt themselves out), and needless to say i wouldnt want that to happen D:
I appreciate the encouragement!
