Hi! I have a custom header and my menu links are in a custom sidebar. I am currently using - $[current_user.new_notifications] - to get a total of new notifications for the current user and I was wondering if there is the same kind of thing for new messages? I've tried guessing - $[current_user.new_messages] (?) but nothing seems to be working so if anyone knows this little bit of code (if it even exists) it would be much appreciated... Many thanks!!

$[current_user.messages.new] will give you the count that usually shows above the Messages button.
This one is formatted differently than the others because $[current_user.messages] contains subvariables that represent the count for not only new messages but separate counts for the total amount of messages in your inbox, outbox, and archive.
