First off: I freaking love how the ad and site look. It's very crisp and clean and nice to the eyes (it actually makes me want to stare at it for a long time lmao). As a person who's very picky about how a site looks (I'm typically a more simply skinned aligned person), this is really good. Kudos to whoever skinned it because it's beautiful and skins are one of the most important things to a guest/member that may be joining in the future.


Content: The content is very good, and there are obvious signs that research went into it. However, most of the threads are very long reads which can daunt a lot of people. I would recommend a "newbie guide", as I can't seem to find one from looking through it. These typically link you to the most important threads that you need to read and then the other things you can read as you're waiting for the app to be accepted, etc, etc.

Other: The only other thing I notice that may need to be fixed is the cbox. I have a tiny screen though (an 11 in laptop in fact) and everything appears smaller to me, but I can only see two messages at a time in the cbox: What it looks like on my screen

Other than these small things that I noticed, the site looks/reads amazing! I definitely think it's something worth checking out. When you see the advert and click it, you're most certainly getting what you're expecting. Even the layout and advert match, so awesome on that! I hope the site goes well for you ^^

I was the one who coded the skin and ad and stuff. I'm so glad you like it!!

As far as the cbox is concerned, I am in no way dismissing your comment, but it's coded so that the drop down nav is the size it needs to be and then the cbox goes from there, down to the bottom of the page. So If you're on a really small screen, you'll only get a couple of messages, but if you have a really big one, you'll see hundreds. (if you see what I mean). If you can think of a better way of coding it so that you can see more but it doesn't intrude on the navlinks, I am all ears but on that one I might just have to chalk it up.... >.<

I do however, hear what you say on the newcomer guide. I thought that the links in the encyclopedia were clear enough regarding pointing people in the right direction (hence why I didn't have a newcomer guide initially) but I take your feedback on board and will definitely be creating one now!

A tiny point that you might want to consider is making your logo image a link back to the home page. If you land on the "oops, there was an error" page somehow there's only the tiny Aeipathy link in the wrapper that can get you back to your content, very easy to overlook. I actually only noticed while I was writing this message ^^

I was recently told that users expect your logo to be a link back to the homepage on a website. I think it's a good idea, especially in this case.

EDIT: Also just noticed that this happens when scrolling down your homepage:

No it's not intentional, that very occasionally happens and a refresh sorts it out... I don't know why it does it... :S
