What is the best way to find others to build a forum with?

Basically, which way does everyone find best to find other people interested in the same subject - for example the twilight series - to make a role-play forum or even any forum with? Whilst I do have ideas I find it lonely doing them on my own and so wish to find out how others go about finding other people to build, run, and play together on a proboards forum website. Any help would be appreciated.

I know some resource sites have an area for "looking for staff" (but those are mostly jcink I do believe). But mostly, for me, it's typically friends I've made on a similar forum, or someone who I've known for a long time (such as my current co-admin). You really just have to toss the idea to someone and see if they like it and if they do, see if they'd like to help out or something along those lines.

As Telh said, having buddies that share the same interest goes a long way. I also find, if you work with friends you have prior, they all probably be more dedicated and cooperative. Of course, not to say it's hopeless if you have no one ready when you pitch an idea. Many forums exist for the sole purpose of general roleplay talk, even discussion on ideas and creation. On mobile I can't effectively link any at the moment, but they exist. I believe RPG-Directory may fall under this category, but I can't certainly recall.

If you have social media, you can maybe advertise the want to collaborate there.

Thankyou for the help. Unfortunately I don't have any friends and have been out of the proboards games for a while now so I don't know anyone anymore as I can't find any of my old friends. I guess I'll keep going at it alone. I do appreciate the feedback though!
