Now that would save a great deal of time ! I'm aware of the dropdown version but some users can't/won't scroll ,they prefer to click once and see every board link on one page. This plugin would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Pressing Alt+D on the keyboard scrolls up and opens the navigation tree's menu automatically for the lazy.

Pressing Alt+D on the keyboard scrolls up and opens the navigation tree's menu automatically for the lazy. Thanks but when my forum is finished it will have atleast 400 boards. So instead of Alt+ D then scrolling and scrolling and clicking One could just .......click then click .. job done. I'l pass on the tip though thanks.

Are all 400 of those going to be visible on the homepage? That's the only way I can see any amount of scrolling being an issue.
While the forum software does support having hundreds of boards it's overwhelming having every single board presented to you at once in a single list no matter what the form. You may want to consider using both the category and sub-board functionality to categorize them a bit more effectively as even the list of 61 boards that you have visible now on one of your forums takes a substantial amount of eye and brain work to process all at once without the use of the navigation tree dropdown.
Ultimately forum navigation should be straightforward even without the use of a dropdown. For example, while we have 45 boards publicly visible here on ProBoards Support only 15 of them are listed on the homepage (not counting the "Sub-boards" lists below the descriptions) so that there's a lot less to have to navigate through upon initially landing on the forum.

To answer your question,on the homepage will be a link to the "board links page". These will be listed in order to represent the ftse350 stocks using there individual stock code. Each code is usually 3 or 4 characters long. This means I get a lot of links in one place on one page. I click a link to say eg BARC and it takes me directly to that board. layout example. stock1,stock2,stock3,stock4,stock5 etc ..in alphabetical order . How long does it take find stock4 and click on it when they are in alphabetical order ? I understand your reasoning but using my type of table layout allows adding links to each stock such as charts or news etc and all in one place.
Edit. also if I decide to add say 4 links to each stock I can do it my way but the tree would be a nightmare onscreen

You understand I will be placing the boards and sub boards within categories anyway. I would just like to give another option for a fast search for those who don't like scrolling. I actually had complaints from posters who didn't like the scrolling.
Forgot to mention another reason is that the navigation tree doesn't seem to work well if at all on touch screen devices ... unless I'm missing something obvious ?
ps Your help has been appreciated, thanks.

If you've visited my forum you will have seen the categories and sub boards already used. I've just had a post in the last couple of hours of how logical and straight forward they thought it was. I digress. To answer your question,on the homepage will be a link to the "board links page". These will be listed in order to represent the ftse350 stocks using there individual stock code. This sounds to me more like something you could do yourself with HTML on a custom page rather than something that would require a plugin.

Thanks, Sounds like a plan but I'm an amateur and don't know anything about HTML hence the suggestion for a plugin. Looks like I'll have to resort to the old manual link entry routine. Thanks anyway.
