My site is a Marvel/DC crossover roleplay board. Im looking for a theme that gives off a classic comic book feel, it can be either DC or Marvel but id like to have blend of both if possible. I also plan on having affiliates at some point so I'd like the ability have affiliate links marveldcbrokenwalls.proboards.com/

Do you have graphics and colors you would like the person to use? That may make it easier for someone to do if they had a starting point.

I don't, I really dont know anything about creating graphics but as far as colors go I was thinking like deep blue and maybe purple or green

In addition to what Beckea said, that starting point in extremely important for people to create a theme for you. They can't see an image in your head so they can't really create for you without actual images you'd like to see on your theme. Too many people used to create themes with nothing more than a basic thought and too many people those themes were made for decided they didn't like it. Themes can be simple or complex depending on what you want but all of it takes time so when she said graphics..think of it as images. Find a couple of images you like from both DC and Marvel that can be played with and manipulated a bit. Pick ones that are not copyrighted. When I did an image search on exactly the phrase you used in the first post ie. "Marvel/DC crossover", a ton of images came up in google. Too many of them copyrighted but several that were not. Each group of images set up a different look so honestly, too many choices to choose from when not knowing exactly what you want. Once you find the images you like, add them to your first post along with the colors you already stated, if you can, or when you do your next bump though it would be less messy adding to that first post. Just my 2cents. Hope that helps.

People have already given you some pretty great advice but I advise reading the stickied thread in this forum. If I were still actively fillingg requests, I would pass this over because it lacks bare minimum information to tell any theme creator how much time and effort theyre going to have to expend on this project. support.proboards.com/thread/507004/tips-on-requesting-theme

Great points.
People responded but still no information given. hmmmmm.
1) Images -- You just want white space?an image? color used for background?
2) Colors -- black red, white. What would you want. I hate browns and grays but sometimes it works for some themes. I don't have a lot of members who like white but I still make a theme for those that do.
3) Title? You want the person to work on finding your name of your board?
4) Simple or what would you like?
I don't know about the others, but the reason you are not getting a response or a theme being made for you is well you are not making an effort in giving information. You want others to do it for you. Make a google search to find images and go from there. Make an effort and you may find interest in helping you. Make sure it is linkware or free to use. Work on this and maybe you will find some ideas from the searches.

When I was younger comic books were black and white with some color here and there. A collage of squares telling the story, but anyway as I stated previously and others kastor - do your part in searching for ideas and get back to us. Otherwise I don't imagine anyone will be making one for you. You need to read the stickied topic above and go from there.
Happy Searching.

I did read the stickied thread, I mentioned what my site was about and the theme of it. In another post above I mentioned colors I like and the title of my board is in the url...I'm not sure what I'm missing, just any pictures of DC and Marvel characters will do.

That thread mentioned a whole lot more than what you supplied. If you really want a theme made, then you need to actually do your part and supply the bits and pieces and information asked for. Otherwise, no one will bother. Read again and do so a tad slower.
What you gave or what we can read...
Title: Marvel/DC Broken Walls (Perhaps just 'Broken Walls') Kind of Forum: RolePlay Theme to the Forum: Marvel/DC Colors Wanted: deep blue; maybe purple or green (might want to be sure of at least 3-5 colors; also note if you want shades of those colors because that too helps a lot. If you know exact colors, even better) What to include: DC and Marvel Characters (that is a whole lot of characters so.... choose half a dozen or so but find 2 you want over all the rest. Just a suggestion. Makes things easier)
The things added in () will be things asked or are just suggestions to get this going for you quicker.
What you forgot...
Will you want the layout to be the same as what you have already or will you want your boards, for example, done differently? Do you want text to be larger? Are you planning to use plugins and what ones because depending on how you want things set up, that will be handy to know. etc etc etc. Too many things i can list for you to think about and most are in what that thread Kami posted.
If you only want something as basic as adding in colors, creating a banner and adding in a background, then you have what you need given already except the images you want for your banner and background. Everything in bold should be in that first post. Most will not take the time to read through all these posts to get the info. Takes too long. FYI, there is a lot more to a theme than these things. Just saying.
If you want it more complex, you have a lot to sort out in your head so you can answer all those questions mentioned along with a few that were not. Good Luck.

When I do a theme -- I start from an image -- than I go to a photo editor to "take out the colors" -- there are several photo editing where they can take colors from an image (i.e. Lunapic) that brings up the colors within the image. I like to coordinate my colors. Having too many is too much so I usually go for three contrasted colors -- neutral colors usually is a safe bet for me as well. I don't like pastels, neons, or really bright but I like color and stay away from white, grays, black (unless it fits the image) than I will use those sparingly. You have to think about your users as well -- what is appealing to them. Choosing three colors and I always use black for the text. One color for links and then a light tone of that second color for visit links, and the third usually borders. But I always take colors from an image it helps. Then it coordinates very well.
I don't like busy backgrounds so I would never go for that but something soothing to the eyes.
I use icon archive for icons but use 16x16. Which for me I like.
I customize my info center because I just want what I want and nothing else. I like clean lines, border-radius:0px and sometimes rounded corners on top. I like using triple backgrounds in my themes. I have a "skeleton" and copy it over and just input the colors and images I am going to be using. I also do some customizing (css and html use) and it may take me anywhere from a few hours (if it is a simple theme) to days if it is more difficult or more elements used. But on average it takes maybe a day in a half but that is because I have a skeleton and did all the picking out colors from the image and use very little graphics. Since all my CSS is already inputted I just add the color and image.
As Tanya stated, it is not as easy you may think. There is a lot goes into it. For me I know my likes and dislikes -- I have made three "skeletons" and it is easey peasey from there. If I know the information, have the images I need, and colors, than it is not so difficult.
I have sons that love Marvel but there are just so much about it that you would need to figure out. No one is going to do the work for you, need to do your part. I have done themes before where I had to pick out what I want "because the person said it would be okay" but then at the end when I was done they did not like it. I don't like "doing it my own" to have it crapped on at the end. Too much time and effort into doing it. So I have learned to get more information and images and I go from there. For me I love purple and green but I like the jewel tones of those colors. I don't like pastels or neon of those colors. I love jewel or bold. But use of bold I am careful in using it sparingly.
I don't like too much graphics (images) because to me they are clutter. I am also a web designer so there are creation rules in what would be appealing to people and I abide by those because what I may like the user may not.
Anyway, enjoy your board. Maybe play around with the virtual editor with colors and see what you can get from that.

For now why now change the colors where the titlebar, fonts, are in black. Red as the links and white space for the background and maybe locate 3-4 images. Just play around with color for now.
