I would like a plugin that allows a forum to inherit all its descendant forum posts (and say which sub-forum each post was posted in on the list of posts).
So, right now you can make sub-forums, and it says how they're related to other forums, but it doesn't put all their posts in all their ancestor forums (which makes those posts less likely to be seen in the more general-purpose forums where they're also on-topic).
For instance, I would want all posts in the watermelon forum and the muskmelon forum to show up in the melon forum, and all posts in the melon forum and the squash forum to show up in the cucurbit forum. And yes, I would want watermelon and muskmelon posts to show up in the cucurbit forum, too, and so forth.

A plugin wouldn't be able to accomplish this. Only a built-in feature could do this.
Plugins are just HTML/CSS/Javascript codes with a user interface. No server-side languages are used, so they can't do anything like grab things from the database or alter the page before it's sent from the server.
