Moving welcome logout link

How do I move the "Welcome, kanu    Logout" thing to the very upper right part of the screen, kind of like this site has it except all the way up and all the way to the right? And/or, how do I do it how this forum did. I want it parallel with the site banner title and all the way to the right.

The reason I want this is to reduce the vertical space used, since I have a big navigation menu.

I imagine I need to do absolute positioning or something but I'm not sure how to that here, yet.

Ack. the link I gave had the wrong domain. It should be boards.net. I don't see a way for me to edit it.

In Themes > Layout Templates > Forum Wrapper the welcome text is produced by this section:

    {if !$[current_user.is_member]}
    	Welcome Guest.  
    	{if $[login_link] || $[register_link]}
    		Please $[login_link]{if $[login_link] && $[register_link]} or {/if}$[register_link].
    	{/if}
    {else}
    	<span>Welcome $[current_user.name].</span>  $[logout_link]
    {/if}
</p>

You can basically move this part of the code anywhere. On the default theme the forum's banner starts at this line:

<h2 id="banner">

So moving that bit of code so that it's inside that element should be a good starting point.
