Forum logo has disappeared

Hello again, ProBoards Support.

Lately, I've noticed that our forum's logo is missing. I've since been able to retrieve it (not as easy as it used to be with Google removing its "View Image" option), but I'm wondering if I should try to re-apply it to the main page. The grey box currently in its place seems to indicate that it was created through imgur.com, and I don't know if imgur has similar policies in place as, say, photobucket about having to pay for sharing images.

Hi, DSkillz.

While linking an image from Imgur does work their terms of service forbids using their service as a content delivery network.

You should be able to upload a logo image directly to the forum via the Images tab of a theme's settings.

I was wondering if I should re-upload this specific image, though. It was probably created through Imgur, and even though I didn't retrieve it through Imgur itself, it might still possibly disappear again due to the former fact, right?

The only instance in which the image may disappear is if you're hosting it externally on a separate service like Imgur.

If you upload it directly to the forum the image is hosted on our service instead as it's part of your theme. Theme images uploaded directly to the forum aren't typically subject to arbitrary deletion.

Sorry to bump this thread back up, but I just tried to upload the image the forum settings and it said the filetype wasn't allowed.

Yep, and it's still not uploading. If it makes any difference, I'm trying to upload it from a flash drive on my comp.

Not sure what the issue was, but I was able to upload it to your default theme and then add that link to your forum wrapper replacing the imgur link.

Heh, it looks like I should've made the image background transparent ...

BTW, I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was trying to add the image through Forum Settings as the icon that shows on tabs and browser bookmarks. That's where it wasn't letting me upload.

That will be the next step.
