I'm new to Proboards so I need some help, please. When I post, I first will set the way I want it to look - center, font size, color, etc. All that coding stuff is showing up. And when I start to type, it's so tiny that I can barely see what I'm doing. I want the posting to look just like it does right here. Can someone tell me what I need to do? Thank you!

If you use the BBCode editor (as opposed to the Preview editor), you can put this at the bottom of your stylesheet: /* Increase text size of new thread in BBCode editor mode */ .editor.bbcode-editor textarea { font-size: 18px !important; }
Change the 18px to a size of your liking. Also note that this is a per theme code. If you want it for all themes, put the code in between <style> tags and put it in your Global Header instead: <style> .editor.bbcode-editor textarea { font-size: 18px !important; } </style>

I don't mean to sound dumb, but this old lady (I'm 68) is really having a problem finding where I need to put this. Can you give me specific directions? Thank you so much.

If you only have one theme on your forum, then you add the first code supplied by Lynx clicking admin at the top of your forum, then clicking themes, then clicking Advanced Styles and CSS. You will have two tabs, Visual Editor & Style Sheet, select the Style Sheet tab. Then scroll to the bottom of the code editor, add the code in the first box above. Then click save at the bottom of the editor.
If you have more than one theme, and would like the BBCode editor to be larger in all themes, Select Admin at top of forum, Select Structure. Then select Headers & Footers, under Manage select Global Header & Footer. Then put the second code supplied by Lynx into the Global code box. Then click save at the bottom of the Footer editor.
Do not forget to change the 18px to a larger size if needed, and remember you can try different sizes by following these steps.

Here's what I get when I open a new post: etc. I think you know what I'm referring to. I have a couple of ladies who are around 80 and all that would confuse them. I want them to be able to open a post and to just start typing.
Is there any way to be able to do that? Thank you!

I tried putting in all that stuff that comes up in the reply box when you start choosing how you want it to look (align center, font size, italic, etc) but it won't show up when I send it. Do you know what I'm referring to? I just want my ladies to come in and post a reply without all that stuff. I want them to be able to post just like we can here. Thank you!

kylesgranny, if you provide the forum URL, I can review what changes you made and see where we need to go from here to get you what you want.

kylesgranny , the posting box has two views, Preview and BBCode. You can choose which view to default to when creating a post. Looking at your profiles, on this forum your default view is "Preview" and on your forum your default view is set to "BBCode", this is why you are seeing a difference.
On your forum go to Profile > Edit Profile, Settings Tab. Then about half way down you will see:
"Posting Default Sets what editor you default to when creating posts." Click on the word 'Preview', then click on the 'Save Account Settings' button at the bottom.
Then make a post and let me know how it goes. If we still need to make an adjustment we can.

That worked! You're my hero! Thank you ever so much. My ladies are going to be very happy. I knew that moving our little group from Aimoo to Proboards was the right move. Thank you!
