Hi! I hope this is the right spot to post - if not it'll probbaly get moved I am working on a new RPG PB forum. However I cant decide/think of a good plot! Here are some ideas. IDEA #1
The mice and rats both live in an abandoned, collapsed city OR an old forest setting. However, one day, they discover an old abandoned truck. Little by little, the rodents take the truck apart, and take the parts back for studying.
The mice, who are interested in building and towers and burrows, took the metal and structural parts. The rats, who are interested in electricity and motors, took the engine and lights and wires.
The goal?
They want to rebuild the truck, now having understand how it works. They want to make it rodent-accessible. What an accomplishment that would be! The problem? No one wants to share. Give the rats the structure metal, and the rats will get the credit. Give the mice the wires and power, and the mice get the credit. Sure they can try to share, but everyone knows rats and mice do NOT get along.
CONCLUSION?
So it will be a constant war between trying to steal each other's parts. Would that be a fun RP? What if they manage to take all the parts and try to build? I dont know..
IDEA #2
There are two groups in this world: Civilized and Thieves. The Civilized are mice, and they are smart and attempting to build and create, to rebuild the humans' contraptions. But the Thieves - the rats - are evil, and they do not want the mice to succeed. They are stealing the mice' creations for their own; the rats do not have the knowledge to build things for themselves, so they steal them.
CONCLUSION?
Could be more added into this. This one might be the best? I dont know, might be the same thing over and over. steal, fight, steal, fight? maybe the rats start building bigger and better? or the mice build rat-traps?
I feel like these wouldn't be very interesting to first time guests, or even members. I want a fun, new, original, member-driven rp about rats (maybe mice too). These were the best I can think of. Wondering what you think about these ideas, and if you have any ideas yourself? Thank you!

Animal-based RP isn't really my forte, but from a generic plot perspective I think Idea #2 is more content / participation rich. Idea #1 would be too impractical to stretch into a long-term RP; off the top of my head you have no where to go without totally revamping the premise of the forum if the truck is built, you would have to keep creating more and more situations to prevent the completion of the task which would eventually lead to a point where your players will struggle to suspend their disbelief, the idea of a "war" taking place in the limited structure of a truck gives it too little space (if mice and rats were smaller a 'war' would be plausible but with their size versus the size of a truck it would be at best if LA and San Francisco went to 'war' and would likely not be as compelling as you would hope).
The things I would encourage you to explore with idea #2 would be worldbuilding and motivation:
1. WHY are mice considered 'civil' and rats 'evil'? What is the history between these two groups to put them at odds? Are rats OBJECTIVELY evil, or are they evil from the point of view of mice? If they're objectively evil, why? Are there any exceptions to the rule? If they're only evil from the mice's point of view, WHY? What caused this view to develop? 2. WHY do rats lack the ability to create / recreate? Mice and rats have similar levels of intelligence. 3. WHY do the mice want to recreate human technology instead of creating mouse-specific technology? If they are clever and resourceful enough to retrofit human tech for mouse use, then they should be clever and resourceful enough to actually create mouse-centric tech. 4. WHY will the mice not share their tech to benefit rats, if rats are not capable of producing their own tech? 5. If mice are re-assembling human tech that implies humans exist, so HOW do their actions impact the human world + human/mice interactions 6. What is the basis for this conflict? Rats do not have the knowledge but desire to steal it. WHY? What purpose would this serve for the rats?
Of course, there are more things to think about but hopefully this serves as a launching point for the right train of thought (:
