Hello,
myBB for some years has always used the stopforumspam.com database which contains names, email addresses and IP's of people who abuse or misuse forums with bad intent.
myBB stopforumspam plugin would then compare new registrants names/ipaddress/email addresses and perform a free lookup on the stopforumspam website database and if found then the new registrant would be denied the ability to register.
myBB later incorporated the coding into the forum software itself so a plugin was no longer needed.
Could you please consider something similar for the Proboards?
Thank you for your consideration.

Hi coolcos and welcome to Proboards Support. Most of what you want is not possible directly, (as the login page cannet be edited), but what you can do is go to Admin Home > Settings > Forum Settings > Login & Registration tab and turn on 'Restrict Registration', this will allow you and Staff with the required powers to vet each user that joins and decide if you wish to have them on your forum, Also if you install the IP Lookup plugin, you will be able to check an ip address of a user and see if it is a problem for you or not.

In addition to what Nscalerr has suggested you should know that Proboards has been using the services of stopforumspam for a number of years in their spam filter. The plugin mentioned comes in handy to quash those that might get through since it is mentioned that IP entries alone may lead to false positives so not acted upon without collaborating evidence.
