My new job hours are 330 to midnight and I'm coming from a 10pm to 6am shift from my old job, been awake since 4am trying to prepare myself for it. Since I dont start until the 17th it's a good time to reset myself to that time frame again. I've been drowning coffee and any caffeine I can find.
I assume some of you have done 12+ hour shifts so you're use to it. I remember the time I did 330 to midnight then I went to my old job from 1 to 6. Killer. So what do you do to stay awake?

When I've had to adjust my schedule like that in the past, my strategy was to just keep staying up later and later every day until my body adjusted. Of course that was in my 20s. I don't know if that would be so healthy any more. ;D

I never had to adjust my schedule. I need very little sleep.
On the weeks where I worked every shift and had class, I would find myself drowsy at times in the couple hours of downtime. In those instances, I either showered to wake my body back up or meditated.

Back in high school when I needed to do some last-minute crunch before finals, I would chew and grind coffee beans in my mouth.

Afternoons then...yeah? When you come home just after midnight, what's your routine?
