Is there a 'Recent comments'/comment box plugin?

Self-explanatory.
Would want to have a comment box in macro-profiles / user profiles; akin to the Wordpress plugin one or more specifically (I am trying to replicate) this one in particular.

If a plugin doesn't exist; do I announce this in the Template Support category?

If a plugin does not already exist, and you are looking to have a plugin made, the best board to post your request in would be the Request A Plugin board.

There isn't a plugin already, for what it's worth, but there would be a lot of limitations to this with the current way plugins are handled. Any comments would have to be stored in a key, and keys currently have a finite amount of data they can hold so the plugin would have to be made in such a way that older comments are lost forever. If you have people commenting back and forth, like in a profile guest book, you might wind up losing relatively recent comments due to sheer volume.

If that's acceptable, then go ahead and request; if you'd rather have as large of a comment log as possible then I'd advise waiting til v6 is released as the plugin system is getting an overhaul which could potentially allow more data to be stored per key -- at the very least, v6 will allow you to have unlimited keys and super keys, which could at least theoretically help out with expansions for this plugin in the form of accompaniment plugins for extra space.
