Has anyone ever killed a bug inside without thinking much about it and then a few moments later realized that killing that bug was a bad idea? If so, please share your stories...
I did so the other day and it turned out to be a stink bug and only realized it once I started smelling something stinky behind me, and immediately got some paper towels and threw it outside and sprayed a heavy amount of air freshener in the area.

Yup, it was when I realized that my action now required a smearing cleanup.

I don't understand this- I killed a stink bug (several bugs) when I didn't know what they were and I had no 'stink' it just smelled green to me.

Generally, no.
For a number of years, I would catch the bugs and release them outside though.

Do you often smell colors? 0.o I don’t find stink bugs to be all that terrible. I do detect an odor after killing them, but I would describe it as a sort of doughy yeast smell. Not particularly pleasant, but not heinously foul. It doesn’t linger very long, either. The reaction when a cat decides to eat one, however, is magical—an experience they never seem to learn from. Now ants are a different story. Every so often I’ll find a big, black (carpenter?) ant in the house and kill it, but the vinegar-like scent it leaves behind is just awful.

I generally have a rule I follow: 'Out of sight, you're fine, in my view, you're mine.' I've give them a choice. It's just some don't chose wisely, so no regrets.

Can't say I've ever regretted it, but the only ones I really go after are ants because they're invasive pests whose only purpose seems to be making me replace perfectly good food.
Occasionally when my window is open some small flying insects will squeeze through the screen so they can mindlessly headbutt my lamp for a while, but they usually disappear afterwards. I actually let house spiders walk freely in my room even after I notice them because they keep a lot of the less desirable stuff out and they're really good at minding their own business. I still have yet to find one crawling on me.

I can't stand flys or mosquitoes so I am afraid the insect spray comes to use, anything else I will pick up and deposit them out of our flat window, it's a common sound in here when I hear Liz yell out "JOHN...SPIDER/DADDY LONG LEGS..." then I will do my husbandly bit and catch them and put them out the window. I see no reason to kill them. Generally, I still do that as well. The exceptions are ants and ticks. Ants because there are usually hundreds of them if I let them get a foothold Ticks because I'm worried about the boys.

Do you often smell colors? 0.o You don't? Recognizing the color of a smell (or taste) can save you from a lot of grief. ProTip: If it looks brown, smells brown and especially if it tastes brown, be careful to not step in it!

Well think about it, when I said it smells 'green' I meant that it smelled like leaves, mowed grass or cucumbers -and when I looked it up many people say the same thing that these bugs don't stink to them. You have never smelled anything that brought back memories of colors like this? Like super spicy food makes you think 'red'?

You have never smelled anything that brought back memories of colors like this? Like super spicy food makes you think 'red'? I tend to associate aromas with things, not the color property of those things. I visualize the referenced source, but I don’t focus on the color. Sure, I, like pretty much everyone else, associate red with heat and spice (even if very few red foods are spicy, when you think about it), but I wouldn’t describe a food as tasting red. Or crayons as tasting purple, for that matter.
