guardianscreations.boards.netI am having problems with admin notes. Not sure why it isn't working anymore, I would like this to be fixed. Kami sorry about that, I wasn't even thinking it was 30 days old. When I put something in the edit reason, it isn't showing up like it use too.

jen73 - no problem! Just have a peep at the timestamp on the top of each post, that should display how long it's been since the thread was posted in (that particular thread you posted in was actually about two years old). Can you link to a recently edited post in a guest-friendly board? Also, a few follow up questions: 1. Has this coincided with a change to your installed plugins? 2. Have you made any modifications to the layout templates? 3. Have you added any new scripts that weren't in plugin form recently?

Can I just open the thread for u that I notice it wasn’t working. It’s in our voting thread under daily’s.
I haven’t done anything or change anything. The last thing I did is what you and Chris was helping about my rule board wasn’t showing up and deleted two old codes in the headers. Everything was working ok after that. Until I wanted to post something in the edit reasons: admin not for member in the voting section. See when a member reaches 25 50 and so on votes I will edit their post to let them know that they will get a award from me soon. I notice the 25 votes and 50 votes doesn’t have my note there.

You can't open individual threads, no, just the boards they are in. If you are uncomfortable with that, that's OK, but you'll either a) have to see if a PB admin will look into this for you or b) wait for someone who is willing to register a test account on your forum.

I don’t mind opening it up for u but I don’t how to create a friendly board. Do I just make a board for guest like I create all the boards I have on my forum?

Yeah, so basically just set "who can access" to "everyone". You don't need to allow guest posting (guests can't edit their posts anyway), just link to a thread where an edit has been made so I can see if it's being hidden or if the content just isn't submitting.

jen73 - It looks like your layout templates have been edited to exclude the edited by / edit reason section of a post. Go to admin > structure > layout templates and find the section that says "Thread" on the left. Click that, and at the top you should see some tabs. Click on the tab that says "Post List". Find this line: {if $[post.edited]} <div class="edited_by"><span class="italic">Last Edit:</span> $[post.edited.date] by $[post.edited.by_user]{if $[post.edited.reason]}: $[post.edited.reason]{/if}</div> {/if}
I think you will find that there are <!-- and --> surrounding this section. Those symbols in HTML mean that whatever is between them is "commented out"; in other words, they make the browser think that it's just a comment for whomever is viewing the HTML rather than something that should be displayed on the web page. Carefully remove the <!-- and --> symbols without removing anything else and save your changes. Your 'edited' date and edit reason / admin notes should reappear.

Kami Your the best.. Wow!! Little things like that makes a difference. 12 Years ago I made a program called Coco that Cat, and it took me years to make this program. When I got it all done I the Kat suppose to talk to you but it stuttered (Hi Hi My name Is Is Coca the Cat) Found out that the middle of the code I had ! symbol then a ? mark. But, to find out just changing that one thing it made code not working, so I decided that writing codes like that took me forever. LOL!! Anyways, thanks for the help!!

Hello Kami - Is there any way we can get rid of the Last Edit by but dont effect the Admin Note. So when I go and edit a thread I dont want to see who edit it last. But I do want the Admin Note to still work when I do need to edit a thread.

Just so you know, my username is kamiyakaoru and not kami. I did not get a notification for this tag since that wasn't me. You can see what someone's username is by hovering over their display name.
This might be possible; it is in part but I'm not sure if the edit reason is tied to last edit timestamps. Give me a few minutes to get on a computer.

Hm. This is technically possible but my version of this plugin (1.0.3) that I installed a few years ago seems to be different from the version I installed fresh from the library (also 1.0.3) and it seems to automatically remove the edit by timestamp if the admin note is used. Since it's already removing it, I don't want to mess with the template to take it out for non-staff, in the event that the plugin is looking for a specific component to achieve this effect. I would recommend asking for help in the plugin help thread instead: support.proboards.com/thread/472988/admin?
