Not sure if this is the right spot to post this, sorry if I posted it in the wrong place.
I'm a beginner with coding, and I'm not entirely sure where to begin with this or if I should simply request that someone build this for me. I know enough to figure out how to make simple aesthetic changes to existing code, and I can follow directions on how to edit premade stuff, but I don't know enough to build from scratch.
I'm looking for two things, really. Here is my sketch for reference (more to demonstrate function rather than aesthetics LOL):
FIRST: I am trying to create a table to show only on the Home Page below the banner. Inside, I want to place Links, User Profile stuff (move the participated button, messages, edit profile, log out, etc), a place to put a Discord Widget, and a list of Admins. I'd like to disable the News (everywhere), Navigation Tree (home page only), and Navigation Links (home page only).
Ideally, I'd like a logged-out/guest user to see a different section than a logged-in user (see image), and I'd like a logged-in admin to have a button for accessing Admin somewhere in that table as well (might look better in the user portion of the table sketch, now that I think of it).
SECOND: I'd like a way to add large(ish) buttons just below this (with just a little space between, unlike how I've sketched it) that link to custom pages. It would be cool to have an option for this area to be collapsable, but I'm not sure how that would be possible or what it would look like so it's not a priority.
Are these plugins? Components of a theme? Header codes? I wasn't sure so I posted it here.
