Say money, pets, family, and work weren't factors. You could go to space and see anything within reason. Does the idea scare you? Make you feel isolated and trapped? Or does it excite and thrill you? I think I'm somewhere in the middle. I'd like to pass by and see the planets, but I also wouldn't want to be stuck there for months or years.

I would love to travel to space just to see the broad expanse of the universe. I am not sure I would want to go through the rigors of training and the letdown after returning. However, I would love to see the planets and such.

Ditto If I thought I could float around in space and see the likes of below I would not hesitate.

I can't. Have to take care of the puppies while Marian goes floating around!!
Seriously, though, I think my age and health would preclude me from going.

Objects in space, even the nearby ones in our solar system, are spaced so far apart that I wouldn't really get to "see" much unless I was travelling directly to a specific location (like Mars, or a moon of Jupiter). And the time investment would be massive even for those. The only way I could see justifying it is if it were some sort of package deal ("Spend a couple days on each of Jupiter's 70+ moons!") or if I were super-old and it was a one-way trip where I could spend the last of my golden years on, say, a picturesque plot on Mars, with the expectation that I would end up being buried there without returning to Earth.

If it didn't take 10 years to travel to Pluto, and if it were actually like a snowy ski resort, I would visit.
If Saturn had the type of rings I envisioned as a kid that I could walk across, I would visit.
If things like time, gravity and temperature had no effect on me, I'd find a way to enjoy every planet.

Would I travel to space? No. For the same reason I have no desire to visit certain countries. I've seen the pictures...that's enough for me. Often times, the reality of being somewhere is a great disappointment, compared to the fantasy!
