Never heard a thing even though my bedroom window is no more than 15 feet away and was fully opened because of the nice weather. Plus it totally ignored the deer feed I had set out... I found no scratch marks, no tracks and no scat (thank goodness!)...

No footprint marks then it must rule out an irate neighbour, I think it might have been some big sized animal has grabbed the top and bent the pipe to see or eat the food, if a human left no footprints or tell-tale signs then an animal can do the same? do you have bears around your neck of the woods?

Yogi and Boo Boo. Smart bears going for the protein (bird seed) instead of the carbs (deer feed). You might want to leave the feeders empty for a while so the bear moves on to someone else's feeders. In WA, we lived on the edge of a steep ravine and bears had a den down below. They would come up and scrape our trees and eat our wild blackberries, but were never a bother to us or our dogs. We were surprised to find out that bears sometimes come out of their dens in the winter. This is a track that was left next to our house one morning:

Apparently now we do. The last bear sighting on our street was about 15 years ago.

I didn't think of the differences in the food (protein vs carbs) makes sense. We here able to salvage one of the feeders. I guess it's time for us to take them in but that sucks because I love feeding the birds when they are so full of their summer color.

A lot of people who live in areas with bears will put the feeder on a pulley system up in a tree, out of their easy reach, then use the pulley to lower it when it's time to fill the feeder.
