I'm very surprised to learn that there is no way to post a link and have a preview appear, as it does with Facebook and Twitter. These days, everyone expects that, we've all been conditioned. So, in a forum, when there's only an ugly link and nothing else, it gets ignored. It's also too much trouble to try to add in all that (thumbnail/featured image and descriptive blurb text). So what can i do to make this happen on my forum? I know there has to be a way. I attach a visual example, just for reference. Not having this feature might be a deal-breaker for me. My forum is about sharing all kinds of information, and this feature is fairly crucial to the whole thing. Maybe there are NO forums that can do this, but with everything going on, some of us want to boycott certain services, and do our own thing. IT would be helpful if there was a way to mimic some of those things members like and prefer so much. ADDENDUM Here's a link to a post on another site which describes EXACTLY what I'm talking about (but i can't find Onebox mentioned)> meta.discourse.org/t/rich-link-previews-with-onebox/98088Attachments:
