Someone today asked for people to share your group family photos and I don't remember my family EVER taking a group family photo. I'm not asking you to share them, but did your family take group photos, not just photos of the kid(s)?

Not a chance. Never had one of those TV show moments.

Not a chance. Never had one of those TV show moments. Every TV family had that family portrait over the fireplace that aged with every season. I never posed for a family portrait though. I did have to pose for pictures with my sister that my mom mailed out to relatives when I was a kid.

A couple of times over the years, early years. We did a big family photo shoot for my parents' 45th anniversary. We will have to do it again though because of an another addition on my sister's side. My in-laws do it of the family about every three years. It's neat to see the changes.

I'm not asking you to share them, but did your family take group photos, not just photos of the kid(s)? The closest we got to a family photo was one person usually missing. Usually my older brother took the picture and the rest of us would be in the picture with my mom. And no dad in the picture since he wasn't really in our life.

Once and that was quite a while ago. I don't remember why we did it -but yes we took a huge family photo. Well oops---this was on my Italian side, not my Hungarian side so if we are splitting hairs I guess that it was not my WHOLE family...

The last nearly full family picture we had, probably was around 8 or 9 years ago, this upcoming thanksgiving. We have had small group pictures over the years since then, but not with everyone together.

Huh. My instinctive answer would have been to say yes, of course, we took pictures all the time. But now you mention it, it was really just the kids. I'm sure there must be some full-family photos somewhere, but it definitely wasn't a regular thing, and I don't remember any off hand. Kind of a shame.

We had a good size family & we took some family photos of our immediate then extended family. We also had a couple of times the immediate family had a professional pic taken. We haven't had pics taken in a long time now. Too many extensions

My family took a big gathering photo at a reunion 3 years ago. Unfortunately you have to really gaze into it to find out who is who because it was taken from too far back of a distance.

My family is scattered all over the country, so meetups are uncommon. I think the most we ever had was 7 or 8 people in our house at once? And that's including the members of my immediate family.

When we were kids, there were load of photos of the kids but I don’t remember group ones with parents too. My parents separated before I was a teenager, so maybe grandparents had some family pics, but they wouldn’t have been displayed in either of my parent’s homes. They didn’t hate each other, but it’s not the done thing.
As adults though, it is something we do whenever we get together. I went on a big family holiday with my dad’s side last year, and there were a few group shots taken. My mum likes to take a pic of all of us when we get together at Christmas, and we have a few group selfies of occasions where we’ve gone out. Family photos have become more of a thing for us in the smartphone and photo sharing era than they were growing up.
