Using the v5 Calendar
The v5 forum calendar is a way to stay up to date with upcoming events that are occurring within the forum community. If the calendar is enabled on the forum, it can generally be found by clicking on the Calendar button located in the navigation menu of the forum. Once clicked, you'll be brought to the calendar page which will show one large view for the current month, as well as 3 mini-calendars displaying future months.
Calendar Settings

Enabling the Calendar
You can choose to enable or disable the calendar feature using the dropdown selector. When enabled, the calendar is accessible by using the Calendar button on the navigation menu.
If Display Birthdays is enabled, members who don't have their birthdays hidden will appear on the calendar.
Viewing the Calendar – Permissions
You can specify who can view the calendar by using the dropdown selector. This has the added option of including and/or excluding member groups as well as selecting a minimum rank for viewing the page.
Creating a Calendar Event – Permissions
You can specify who can create events on the calendar by using the dropdown selector. This has the added option of including and/or excluding member groups as well as selecting a minimum rank for viewing the page.
Adding a Calendar Event
To add a new calendar entry, navigate to the calendar page and click on the New Event button to open the Add Calendar Event dialog box.
Click the date fields to select the date of the event. All day events can span multiple days if desired. "All Day Event" is ticked by default. If the event begins and ends at a specific time, then untick the all day event box to set the day and time the event begins and ends.
Next click the radio button next to the board where the corresponding event thread will reside. All calendar events are tied to a thread and when you click the Create Event button in the lower left corner of the dialog box, you will be taken to the Create Thread screen.
The subject of the thread is what will display on the calendar as the event name.
Once the thread has been created the event will appear on the calendar.
Editing an Calendar Event
An event can be edited through its corresponding thread. Navigate to the thread and click the Edit button for the first post of the thread. Then click the Edit Event button located to the right of the subject line to change the events date and time. Changing the thread subject will change the event name that appears on the calendar.
Deleting a Calendar Event
There are 2 ways an event can be removed from the calendar:

The calendar offers two different viewing options: traditional grid view and list view. At the top of the calendar use the dropdown selector to choose View Calendar (grid) or View List (list).
Navigating
The Today button in the upper left corner of the calendar will returns you to the current month (if not already viewing).
The Prev and Next buttons allows you to view either the previous or next month from the one currently being viewed.
To jump to a specific month, use the Month and Year dropdown selectors in the upper right corner of the calendar to select a specific month and/or year to view. Once selected, click the Go button to refresh and display the chosen month.
You can click on any day on the mini-calendars to view a list of events for that day. Days in bold text have events scheduled on those days. Clicking on the Month of a mini-calendar will display that month in the main view.

- Deleting the event thread will delete the thread and also remove the event from the calendar.
- If you wish to keep the event thread, then edit the event thread's first post and click on the Edit Event button. Then click the Remove Event button, then the Save changes button for the thread. The event will be removed from the calendar but its corresponding thread will remain on the forum.
