So, I thought it would be fun to see what kind of class you had back in the good - ol days.
I gone to school back in 1979 a small town school. Terrible student. My dad didn't force us to study hard. Well me anyway. My brothers and sisters was a bit more book smart.
A few classes that stayed in my head was:
Spanish, I wasn't bad in that
typing, I was ok except for getting carbon paper every where!
choir art Basic business-how to write out checks, business terminology. Math I sucked at, I barely got the credits needed to graduate.
My favorite courses was study hall and lunch! We had good school lunches back then!
So, how about you?

No more pencils no more books No more teacher's dirty looks Out for summer Out till fall We might not come back at all School's out forever School's out for summer School's out with fever School's out completely
Seriously though, I wonder how long in-person learning will continue this fall for the kids still in school.

High school, ahhh good old high school. I was the skip queen. I spent more time out of school than in it. Unfortunately, I learned from experience to regret that I didn't do my best in high school. They did manage to push me through and I did finally do well enough toward the end to graduate. The trick was for people to stop trying to force me to go to school.
When people (parents, counselor etc) stopped caring-I started.
As far as school now -unless there is a vaccine developed (a good one) then this is the new normal for kids. The young ones aren't going to care- they are more resilient and haven't had habit ingrained into them yet.
I did love English, hey what is not to love about reading!?! In senior year my English teacher knew that I had finished all the reading before the other student's, and understood everything assigned, so he would send me to the library so I wouldn't be bored---go figure! I think it is because of him that I am what I am now!

Good topic! I didn’t do well in school even tho I knew the material, I froze at tests. I was shy & we had family issues (deaths, etc). But my parents were of the mind as long as we tried, that was what mattered. If I got a D, but in all honesty did my best, that was what counted. I wasn’t athletic, a nerd, or a stoner. I was just there. Didn’t fit in any cliques. I always was a writer (introvert in me) so I did good in writing as well as Spanish. Learning to type just made it faster for me to write out the things that were whirling around in my head. I do great with written words but not oral. I need to SEE those words. I don’t do well with numbers. As my mom always says, Give me words over numbers (she & I are similar )

I was good in typing, I didn't get into the cheer leading, class president stuff. I think its non-sense. They start that stuff in the 5th grade where I live. Its like schools have their favorites, and depending on their parents. Other kids don't stand a chance. 5th grade doesn't need to have class presidents and such. I dislike it so much, I refuse to capitalize. lol. Sound bitter don't I? I got treated like trash.Kids was mean.,because I didn't wear nice clothes, and make great grades. Little did they know My dad was a business man and very successful! He didn't beleive in having nice clothes for school. I remember a time some snob tried to get snotty with me and I said. No you don'[t or I don't care, and walked away. If I gone to school now, I'd get beaten up every day. I'm a nerd well was. Now very cool.

I loved Science in Junior High School. Then when I reached High School I didn't like it much after 9th grade. Wearing goggles for science wasn't my thing since I always ended up having to leave the classroom often because my goggles would get all fogged up. I hated math. I slept through a lot of my math classes in High School. I actually liked English in both Junior High and High School. Even though I was awful at it. I always managed to get out of having to do a report in front of the class. I did good in History. That was one class I was actually good at. If you asked me anything now, I wouldn't be able to tell you anything I learned back then. I only took art in Junior High School and hated that too. Never took art in High School. In High School I had Horticulture for one year which was cool and I took child-care and that was boring. In Junior High School I had a sewing class for half the school year and the teacher was awful. If you made a mistake she would point it out in front of the whole class and of course all the kids would laugh at you. The second half the year we had cooking class and I didn't like that one much either. I always got stuck with the student that didn't want to do much so I had to figure out how to do all the stuff myself. I almost couldn't graduate High School because the principal said students needed to have (I believe it was 2 credits were needed for a computer course) some computer course. Of course everyone in my English class never had a computer class. But it worked out because at least twice a week my English teacher made us do our reports on the computer.

Computers started in the school in my senior year. I really can't remember classes that were elective. I was like at the bottom 50 of my class. My siblings was smarter. I wasn't encouraged dad was too busy working his car business and running a farm. Keeping track of 6 kids.
He must have paid someone to pass me. lol
