Debates about controversial subjects are fine as long as the topic remains respectful and not tone deaf. If one wants to bring up a subject for debate, one needs to understand that others might not share similar opinions and that one might have to end up just agreeing to disagree and moving on. In addition, many debates here end up getting locked because some cannot remain respectful and end up name-calling, which is a sure way of attracting the attention of moderators. That said, debates such as, “Icons of slavery are ok,” for example, are not appropriate because we as compassionate human beings know that is not okay, so it would be wise to pick one’s battles instead of just trying to be inflammatory.

Icons of slavery are ok? That's not even what was said. There was nothing inflammatory in that post.
Compassionate human beings understand that a black woman (who was a slave, yes) was much more a part of our history and shouldn't be cancelled because it makes one uncomfortable to discuss. If all you see is racism when you see a black character, that is on you, not me. I see pride, love for her family and dedication to doing what she could do best.
Deleting icons, statues, history, honest discussions on a message board... that is all a part of cancel culture. It might make you feel better and deem yourself having superior character traits, but that is the entire point of the thread.
We need to listen to all voices that were a part of our history, not just the ones you find comfortable to talk about.
We're having riots all around the world based on racism. We think the solution is to cancel an iconic, strong woman on a syrup bottle?
It isn't fair to look at a black woman on a syrup bottle and never conceive that she had more of a life than just being a symbol of slavery. That diminishes every care taker, loving Aunt and homemaker that ANY of us had the luck to be part of our family.
It's much easier to delete and perhaps suggest that we enjoy a bit of white privilege and now we can enjoy eating our pancakes without every having to think about another perspective on life. Right?
If you find ANY of that offensive, full of name calling or disrespectful, you're not listening. You're erasing.

See, now that’s a much better and more thought out post than what I had moved.

I'm guessing you take this a wee bit too seriously. Of course, you cannot draw interest if you keep deleting threads OF interest. The "denizens of this support forum" definitely need something other to talk about than the color of their walls or whether their role playing character should have wings or not. On the contrary... I don't take it seriously at all. I'm just tired of seeing you & your minions' inane complaints. I cannot stress enough how no one here cares that your forum was deleted. Like, at all. I am a user here, just like yourself, and have no power to delete anything. The users are free to talk about what interests them, but I think you'll find that the content you're offering is not interesting to us. If you would like to talk about cancel culture, BLM, Aunt Jemima, and whatever else gets your panties in a bunch, you have your own forum where you can do so. Please take this to PMs. You do not speak for the members as a whole nor do you have the authority to tell others what they can and can’t post.
