Jim and I have taken up geocaching, where you use your phone's GPS to find hidden caches nearby. This month, we've found 5 caches, 4 of which had goodies inside that you can choose from and replace with something new. Do any of you do this? It's a great way to get some exercise. We do have to be on the lookout for rattlesnakes and poisonous spiders, but that doesn't scare us away from the fun. Here's what we've found so far, and you can see Jim out in the desert with his phone trying to find another one. Some of the caches can be ammo can size, but others are very small. One of them today was inside a small vial. All have a way to log that you've been there (date and name). There are TONS of them around our small town.

This is the first I've ever heard of such a thing. Sounds cool. I like the idea that you replace what you find with something else. I suppose you could create a new cache and location and have it added to whatever list they provide?

I just ordered a patch for my jean jacket that actually makes me a wandering cache, as it has a unique number that geocachers can add to their finds when they encounter me, haha. The best part of all of this is that it's free! Just download the app (more info on geocaching.com) and get started.

(Admittedly, I saw that and deleted the app. I wasn't in a position at the time to pay for things like that.) I've been hoping to give it another go, especially as I will be having a friend moving up here soon and thought that was a great thing for us to do together. Hope you're healthy and well, wildmaven and Retread!
