New thread;subject,change text size

Hi, have searched forum for my problem and tried a few lines in AS & CCS. Nothing has worked for me.

When someone starts a new thread they enter subject text. When someone visits the new thread the subject heading is very small. I need to enlarge. 

Have tried .threads .main .link a { font-size: 13px; } nothing happens.

Bars forum; Chat Chat; Subject heading 2 small especially on a mobile phone.

Have no coding experience so please be specific. Change colour would be nice as well.

I'm seeing the css rule on the forum but without a unit (so invalid):

.threads .main .link a{font-size:16;}

Manually adding a unit (e.g. "px") rectifies the issue for me:

.threads .main .link a{font-size:16px;}
