aRMY83 Code Fix??

Dude, nice clock, but, on my TRIBAL theme, after adjusting all settings, and telling it to "Center" clock Globally....

The clock "cell/table" breaks my left side table border.....

Is there a way you can adjust that??

Forum Width is 928px....and it's only the "left" side it's breaking...

I have the clock off currently as I don't like having forum border busted...

Just told you what it's doing...
It's breaking the Left Side of the forum border/table by, oh, i'd say at least 30px...

His code is in a cell of it's own, but for some reason it's pushing left instead of staying centered....

Most likely he will need to enter and adjust his table %...simple fix if he ever shows..

His forum hasn't been used in 3 months....

So there is no support coming from there...

To elaborate, since I didn't write this plugin, the most effective way of me seeing the issue is to look at the issue in action in order to see how the code interacts with the HTML structure of the site.

With it off, the code doesn't appear, and I cannot see the interaction. If HTML breaks, that could be the cause of a code conflict; it could alternatively be caused by improper coding/the wrong syntax, a missing closing tag, a missing portion of javascript, etc. If it's disabled, I will be unable to see it and will only be able to throw guesses at the wall to see what sticks. Think of it like a medical diagnosis -- you can describe the symptoms, but more often than not the doctor will need to run tests to make sure they understand what's going on. Otherwise, you're in for a wild ride of trial and error.

It'll save both you and I (or whomever is available to assist) if you enable it, unless you would prefer to try things at random for the sake of not having a temporarily broken site? If that is the case, I can start suggesting things (:

I've now tried both of aRMY83's clocks, and they BOTH, slide to the left, and break the forum border.

It's something with his code...

Nothing else on my board malfunctions or looks improper, and I'm using 16 other Plug Ins....

We need him to update it...

Or someone to make another that works without sliding left and breaking forum borders...

Since it doesn't appear that you've enabled the code, I can only start guessing. The plugin creator last visited here yesterday and posted as recently as 11 October, so since you've already posted your issues in his support thread it's probably best to give him a chance to reply. If he doesn't within the next 24-48 hours I / someone else would be happy to assist further.

In the mean time, have you gone to your plugin section and looked under "build" to see if the plugins appear? If they do, you should be able to adjust the plugin yourself (with or without assistance, whichever you need). If it doesn't appear there, it would mean that the build is locked, and only the plugin creator can make direct edits — but, if that's the case a CSS override may be able to help out instead. Unfortunately I would be unable to provide that CSS as I have no idea how the HTML is formatted for this plugin, as it is not active on the forum for me to see.

I understand your reluctance, though, so if you do wind up needing further assistance perhaps someone with more time to install the plugin and theme on a test forum than I currently have at my disposal would be willing to assist more.

Oh, I see! Sorry, I totally misunderstood your earlier statement.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance at this point -- good luck, hope you get a response soon! But if not, I will be more than happy to take a look if you're willing to turn the plugin on for like 5 minutes while I troubleshoot.

It's on....

And you can plainly see it's HIS code, the "cell/table" is shifted LEFT, Text is Centered, with a "GAP" on the right side, even though the size is 928x16px....It's forming up wrong and making the forum border "break"...

Both of his clocks do this...so it's something with them, not the forum...

OK, it took a little mucking about but try these instructions (be sure to not skip steps / skip ahead and follow exactly):

• Head over to your admin panel
• In your admin panel, hover over the "Themes" menu item. Then, select "Advanced Styles & CSS"
• You'll be presented with a white page with a bunch of boxes. In the top left, there should be a dropdown that has the theme selected. Be sure to select the theme you want to affect.
• At the top of this are two tabs; one says "Stylesheet" -- click this one.
• You'll see a BUNCH of code; please don't be intimidated. Scroll the code box all the way to the bottom.
• When you're at the very bottom, click into the code box. Hit the "Enter" key a few times to create some space.
• Once that's done, please paste the following into your stylesheet:

I took it out as it messed up other tables....

You are on the right track, but it has to focus only on his table, and not make the others correct to the RIGHT at the same time...

Definitely tells me it's his code....
