So... With Covid-19 still sitting there like stilled water, it got me thinking about the Holidays and how it'd effect the holidays. Anyone have any real plans for Halloween?
Like are you doing anything different because of the covid-19? Not letting knocking on the door, or setting a bowl of candy further away? Are you still going to go to Haunted houses? Are you going to match Covid-19 theme like a nurse or plague mask or something? is that too soon?
Anyway, what does everyone have planned for their Halloween? Did you change anything because of Covid-19?
me, I'll be at home watching scary movies. I do regret avoiding Haunted Houses this year.

I think you kinda misspelled "preparations" here, but whatever.

I certainly won’t be answering the door, and most parents I know aren’t taking their kids out and are doing a mini party in their household instead. I put some Halloween chocolates and sweets in the food bank collection at my local supermarket, because I always think that kids who’s families rely on those deserve the same treats as everyone else.

Our rural communities have decided to still do the traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating. The logic is that most kids wear masks and that it's easy enough to social distance and for parents to clean the candy at home before ingestion. Maybe a little more awkward than past years due to the overwhelming specter of COVID this year, but not substantially different.
The one thing I don't know yet is how many people will actually have candy to hand out. My boys are excited for Halloween, but could end up very disappointed.

I'm not hanging out with friends as would be usual, unfortunately.
That said, I think trick or treating is okay and fairly safe. It's outside. People are already wearing masks. You're keeping to your own small family group... sounds pretty low risk to me and I've been on the very cautious side during this pandemic. I think vulnerable people or anyone who wants to is justified in not opening doors, but the risk seems low given what's involved and that it's such a fleeting outdoor contact.

I figure I might be doing what I usually do every year, hand out candy. We normally don't have many kids come by, so I might do the bowl thing out the door, and hope no one just dumps the whole bowl in their bags.

Since I take care of my elderly grandmother and mother, I won't be answering the door or handing out candy. It's just too much of a risk for them and I'm not willing to take it.

We'll have candy to hand out as always. We don't get many visitors to begin with, so I'm afraid we won't get any. Which is a shame, because we've always wanted trick-or-treaters.

Halloween means zip to me and my Brother. We closes the curtains and turn lights out so the kids give us a wide berth.

Halloween means zip to me and my Brother. We closes the curtains and turn lights out so the kids give us a wide berth. That's pretty much what I did. As door monitor at the hospital, I come in contact with over a hundred people a day, many of whom refuse to wear their masks properly. There was no way I wanted to come in contact with families even though I'm asymptomatic. Halloween is usually a big deal for me, so this was very depressing.
