So... what are your favorite childhood memories?
I can think of a few, but the two that stand out the most are being able to cook with my mom and whip up all kinds of different, delicious dishes, and when I received a Siamese kitten as a gift. For the latter, my mom decided that she would finally give into my constant requests for a cat, and got me a Siamese kitten when I was 13. I learned to clean litter boxes and make his food as we lived in Sri Lanka and there was no ready made cat food. My mom helped me to make rice and mix it with some kind of cooked fish like salmon, tuna, etc. Thanks to her, I learned to adore cats as much as she did, and possibly more, LOL! >^..^<

I did not have a very good childhood. I've repressed most of it and it trickles out from time to time. I do remember going camping every now and then and I enjoyed that. I still love going camping, it tends to calm me and really lets me relax.

I have the best memories of living next to an abandoned sports complex (had a full size soccer field, athletics track, a small forest and a track where we could race with our bikes...). We build camps, on and in the foundation, of the buildings that were taken down, generations before, we (the children of the neighbourhood) took possesion of the site. We had tree houses connected with robes between the trees, there was nothing we couldn't do, that was a time before "internet" but "we" were never bored... There were board games also Star Wars, Rocky, Jaws and James Bond on VHS ... plus the Atari 2600 game console (Enduro, pac man, phoenix,... pong+ with the paddles instead of the usual joysticks) for times when it was impossible to go outside. I wanna go back in time now!

Kinda specific but today I had a blast from the past.
My dad worked a few towns over and I used to go to work with him as a kid. It was a longer car ride and since Id go with him on the weekends we ate lunch together and did other things just me and him.
I havn't visited the city in 10 or so years. My dad retired and the company shut down. Today my job brought me out in that direction and I spent the day in the city. The long ride, the area. brought back alot of memories. Even visited my dad's old place of work.

I think my best memory of childhood I had was playing on my SNES, Mega Drive and at the arcade, otherwise my Childhood was uneventful.

Well, I never knew my father. But it was never a big deal, it was always just me and my Mom, you know? We never talked about it, it didn't bother me and my friends that had fathers, Ok...big deal. So, my Mom and I did a lot of things together and sometimes on Saturday nights she would let me stay up with her to watch the scary movie. Creature Feature it was called. It was on TV of course, no cable then, so no gore or nudity, nothing like that. Just a good, solid, scary flick for a 5 year old... and it made my whole week. I looked forward to every Saturday night, just to watch the scary movie with my Mom.
So, I became a horror addict. And of course, I loved my Mom for many more reasons, best person ever! But, I'll never forget watching the horror flicks with her as a kid. I loved that time, and wish so often I could go back, even just for a little while.
