Resizing Images for a Zoom Effect With JS

Whilst reading through Cloudinary, tips and tricks , I came across this item.

Could this be used somehow for zooming in and out of images on ProBoards?

Any other ideas for zooming in and out would be appreciated.

3rd, possibly depending on where the image is located. It would not work for images embedded in posts.
