Or are you waiting for v6? Or does it depend on the project?

Or are you waiting for v6? Or does it depend on the project? I would suspect that it's probably a bit of both. Probably the best way to find out is to post a request and see if someone would be willing to fill it now.

I would suspect that it's probably a bit of both. This is the case for me. Also, very busy with school work. I have themes and plugins that I wanted to update, new things I wanted to start, but probably won't get to it before v6 beta.

I witnessed V5 change so many things and change how everything was done so much that if this is even sorta similar it isnt worth anyone's time to work on new projects until its updated.

I would suspect it's a bit of both. For example, my boyfriend and I do most of the coding on my forum, but we decided to hold off on big projects until after V6 is released because we don't want to do everything twice.

Yes, there is somewhat of a disincentive regarding creating new plugins and themes, and someone with an idea for a massive project is likely to wait. But this is not the case for smaller projects and/or for all coders. People will still benefit from new themes and plugins for v5, albeit for a limited length of time. Will that limited time frame make it 'not worth anyone's time'? In my opinion it does not. At least not universally so. We've witnesses a marked decrease in the rate of creation of new themes and plugins. Why? In my estimation, the largest reason is that v5 is a mature platform. We already have almost 350 items in the ProBoards Library and another 100 that are available through attachments or dropbox downloads in threads within the Plugin Library board. support.proboards.com/thread/663414/quick-links-proboards-plugin-libraryThat means that much of what can be done to add features to v5 has already been accomplished. Also, 'coding' isn't limited to scripts and plugins. We're regularly seeing solutions to individual needs being filled by template modifications and CSS additions. Maybe I'm being arrogant to think I'm included in 'anyone', but I firmly believe my recent efforts have been worth my time. Granted, they haven't required the depth of skill and knowledge possessed by the great coders (several of whom are still somewhat active on Support). JMO YMMV /rant

It's a bit of both with me. Personally, I am waiting on V6 mostly because I don't want to have to re-code anything I make. But, if the project is small, I may be willing to code it. Plus with me working from home and being bored a lot it gives me something to do. LOL

I don't really want to start a massive project until I know what changes there will be in regards to plugins for v6.
I do look at the plugin request board, but I am just not motivated enough to fill them. It's not really to do with waiting for v6, I just have to be in the mood to want to write plugins.
I'm also doing other things outside of ProBoards at the moment and I am having fun just toying around with that stuff.
