I assume you mean in the 'Last Post' cell?

In your admin panel, click 'Structure' > 'Layout Templates' > 'Board' > 'Board List'.

Find line 39 (on a standard layout)..

It should read by $[board.last_thread.last_post.created_by]<br />

Remove the red 'by', Save Changes, and all should be good.
