During these troubled times, it's difficult to stay focused on the positive. But I, for one, do remain thankful.
I'm thankful for having had the opportunity to grow and learn. For my friends, past and present. For having survived lean times and missed meals as well as having experienced the joy life often provides us.
I'm thankful for having known those who are no longer sharing the planet with me. While I miss them dearly, I cherish the time we spent together.
I'm thankful for the opportunities I've had to help others. And for those people who have helped and mentored me.
Most of all, I'm thankful that I'm still pumping air.
So, as Thanksgiving approaches, what are you thankful for?

I am thankful my wife & I, our 5 children, and our 9 grandchildren have not been sick from the Corona! I am thankful for my job, through these difficult times I have some co-workers not able to come to work because of existing conditions. I just got off of a quarantine of 14 days, and my IT/IA work has stacked up considerably. I am thankful I still have no lockdown, the last one lasted for two weeks for us here, then I had another two because of contact tracing just recently. I am thankful we talk to some of our children daily, and some weekly. I am 60, but still have much to offer, and my company recognizes my talents. I am also thankful for that sentiment.

I am thankful for the opportunity to live an healthy life, so far, no corona yet for me. I am also thankful that the new Gaming consoles are coming out even at these hard times, so I can keep relaxed and let my mind go off COVID.

I'm thankful for my health and just being alive, first and foremost. I'm also thankful for my pets, family, friends and co-workers during these difficult times.

Very simple: The roof above my head, food and a few true friends. Also still covid free so far.

I'm thankful for all the same things as everyone else - My husband of 38 years, the family I DO have still, that I haven't yet needed my heart surgery and that we only lost one family member to Covid, my friends and cats, and a lot of thankfulness that my Kindle still works!

The things I have in life: Food, shelter, kids, family, friends, job, etc. Easier to remember in times like these I guess.

I am thankful for all of those that are thankful for their lives and show appreciation for it's value. Showing appreciation and love is the greatest of all gifts.

I'm thankful for wifi as it helps keep me sane. Also thankful for those who continue to do dangerous and often thankless jobs so the rest of us can stay as safe as possible during all this.

My health. I've heard that people with insufferable pain want to die. My dad had an infected finger and wanted to cut the thing off but I don't think he was too serious. I've had bouts of sickness that made me wish I was dead so I can imagine how gruelling constant pain must be and I agree with people having the right to die but I hope I never face that dilemma. There is no heaven or hell. No soul. That's just a silly ghost story invented to assuage our fear of the dark. While death itself is painless and without any other sensation I'm not looking forward to oblivion and want to put it off as long as possible. Immortality is impossible. Even if we could live forever the heat death of the universe would get the greatest hangers on eventually. Statistically speaking you are unlikely to survive more than a few thousand years even if they do solve biological immortality as researchers are currently endeavouring to do.
Either you will die in an earthquake, drown, get poisoned, eaten by a tiger, struck by lightning, hit by a bus, slip in some mud or choke to death on the immortality pill etc. Something will get you in the end even if you are the most determined bookworm hiding in your basement. Lack of sun or a papercut infection will find you.
