This time of year we hear a lot of complaints about receiving fruitcake as a gift. But you won't hear me complain.
How do you feel about fruitcake?

Please tell me where I can find fruitcake. It almost seems like a TV myth. I made my own figgy pudding one year, but I'd like to find fruitcake in the store. Everyone seems to think I'm joking when I ask.

Everyone seems to think I'm joking when I ask. lolwut? In what part of the country do you live? Here in Southeast Michigan I can't find a supermarket that doesn't have fruitcake this time of year. Meijer, Kroger, Walmart, etc. You can order online from 'Gourmet' boutique vendors and those are generally in ring form. But I find the rectangular log style be just as tasty and generally less expensive. I bought two of these last week: www.walmart.com/ip/Freshness-Guaranteed-Sliced-Fruit-Cake-13-oz/40711371 and gave one to a friend. I'll buy a few more unless I happen across another brand at a different store that I want to try.

That's how I felt as a kid! Never saw it outside of tv/movies until my mom was given one at work one year. It looked like fruit and nuts suspended in a rubbery texture. That didn't dissuade me of the idea of it being a joke gift.

I love it, but only when it's made right like my grandma used to make it. Lately the store brands are very heavy on the brandy/alcohol so a headache is inevitable if I eat this.

Walmart kept telling me there were none in stock. I had to leave the state to find one. I don't think I'll be buying another.

I had to leave the state to find one. If you have to leave the state to find fruitcake, it's time to move!
