Commissioned theme

Hello all!

Ive tried using premade skins with no luck and the default theme looks old and dated. So I'm wondering if anyone would care to help to make a custom theme for my site? I am willing to pay for commissioned work.

I will. Mostly I posted this just to see if anyone even has any interest. Ive looked elsewhere and no one even responds.

I'll be honest, it's unlikely you will get any takers here for something that looks contemporary. Experienced theme designers, myself included, have taken a hiatus since they don't want to have to revamp a theme again when v6 is released.

If you're willing to pay for a commission, I would look to design-oriented communities both on and off PB rather than here as the currently active theme creators are predominantly people with very little coding experience that are just building off the base theme.

If you look off PB, remember that designers are usually not coders. You might need to commission a designer to create the aesthetic and a coder to execute it.

When is V6 due out? I want to make my site look good but I cant see playing 150 to 200 dollars for a theme that will become obsolete just after getting it.

I did find a theme I really like from another site but its has a lot of stuff I dont need or want but its far too complicated to change. Oo

We don't have a solid ETA, unfortunately. The v6 beta is slated for sometime before the end of this year when we last heard, but there would still be the initial release plus the 18 month conversion period after the release (v5 and v6 would run concurrently during this time -- so you could still commission a theme, and you'd have 18 months of use before you absolutely HAD to convert).
