Sites for FREE image url? (solved!)

Photobucket now requires money and tinypic is now gone... 

Anyone know of a site that I can use just to get urls? I would prefer something that doesn't delete the image code within a short period of time - as I'll eventually be using this for board images. However right now I need something to include images in some threads on a forum style site I'm on.

FREE sites only, please! I know Photobucket exists but I need a FREE option to receive an image URL. I am NOT looking for a site to store images. I need one that gives me a url to insert into a code to display the image in a thread.

Unfortunately, your options are extremely limited. Hosting images as a service costs a lot of money, and between people using adblockers + not able/willing to pay modest membership fees (this isn't a dig on you, for the record -- this is a global issue for a vast majority of internet users), the places to actually upload images with the option of embedding them are few and far between.

Lately, I have been using imgbb.com/ -- you can make an account, and set your uploads not to auto-delete. However, bear in mind that every time a new alternative is found, a lot of people flock to them and that can cause the service to shut down because they can't deal with the drastic revenue losses. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that always assume available options can, at some point, either become paid-only or shut down entirely.

I will say though that if you are using them for forum images you can just upload your images to your proboards theme and not risk losing them at all. I would only advise using imgbb for in-post images, like a gif reaction or screenshot.

There are six choices for FREE image hosting listed in the Help Guide article: External Resources although I would recommend only using those for images in posts, not for banners, avatars or other theme images.

For theme images, you can upload them directly from your computer to a theme. Or you could host them on Cloudinary.

Kami yup, I know about that. It's why every few years there's a new big one for exactly this.

But I'll have to think about using the in site option. I absolutely hate v5 (and am dreading v6 because of my hatred for v5) so I try and do as little within the site options as possible - such as putting a coded link into the description as opposed to within the theme.
