Board Url: heroesofthedas.boards.netHiya, Wondering if it's possible to remove the character limit in the Signature section of Member profiles (i.e. Profile > Edit Profile > Personal > Signature)? If possible, how do I go about doing that? Thank you.

There is no way to directly alter the character count in signatures, but the following plugin gives the ability to increase how much is allowed to be put into signatures to 4,000 characters, if the person is on desktop, laptop, or a JavaScript enabled device. www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/1963

The plugin is a work around that stores the data in the plugin using a super key. At this time, super keys have a finite amount of space for data, so depending on your forum's usage you could hit that maximum amount pretty quickly (for large, busy forums) meaning that either data will stop being written to the key or older content will be deleted as new content overwrites it, OR that you'll never run out of space (for small, casually paced forums). Just wanted to levelset expectations that this doesn't actually increase the signature space, just gives the appearance it does.

This plugin does use a Super Key as Kami says, but it uses a Super USER Key, which allows every member a 4000 character limit, no matter how large your member base, as opposed to a Super FORUM Key, which would indeed be very restrictive. Other than that, Kami is quite correct, this plugin replaces the PB signature with a new one held in said key.

I just didn't want forum owners to think that their members could lose their saved signatures unexpectedly is all.
