Section showing new replies/threads

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone knows of any plugins that could display the most recent threads/posts in maybe a section at the bottom of the forums, maybe in between the admin and legend sections displayed below.

I was looking on the plugin library and searching around not really sure how I could accomplish something like this. I figured it would be feasible and maybe I am overlooking it somewhere already in the default settings, apologies if this has been asked already. If anyone knows of anything that could display something like this I would appreciate the help
