I've been thinking about starting a little indoor garden, I'd like to grow tomatoes and strawberries but have absolutely 0 know how's on the matter. I also have a cat so I'd need ways to prevent the demon from knocking stuff over that's not supposed to be knocked over.
So if anyone has knowledge do share. I'm not looking for super expensive stuff either, cheap and get done is my motto.

Basket, trough or some sort of box, you may have to line the inside with plastic you'll need drainage (gravel etc), then place sticks in each corner to support some fine mesh (sometimes used as greenhouse shading)

Please know that tomato leaves and stems are poisonous to cats. Also, not to rain on your parade, but most vegetables and fruits need insects to pollinate them in order to produce the fruits/veggies, plus they need a good amount of sun for a long time during the day. You'll need to provide artificial light. Cats love to dig in soil, so you can put a metal mesh on top of it, then cover the mesh with rocks. Here's a nice site that can get you started on your indoor gardening adventure: www.offthegridnews.com/survival-gardening-2/7-delicious-fruits-you-can-grow-indoors-this-winter/ but make sure you research each plant to make sure it's okay for your cat.

You can grow strawberries indoors, Click Here to learn how, you just need to hang them in a basket in front of a window up and away from the kitty.
