Hi guys, sorry this isn't about a forum so hope this is allowed. I know somebody who has created a website. The designer who made it is now working on something else. Some pages are loading very slowly and when they ran a diagnostics it was quite confusing. Hopefully the designer will agree to fix it but if not does anyone think they might be able to help figure it out?
Thanks

Are you 100% that the problem is caused by the designer? By the way, did you find a solution to your problem, I am curious to know what you did, as I am working in this field. I always use some UX tips to not encounter such problems and make a good product. Nowadays is much easier to find everything you need, as it is available on the Internet, you just need to know how to look for it. I am waiting for your reply.

It's hard to say without knowing what the site is and how it's designed, but I want to throw this out there as maybe a good starting point. When I work on my sites I use a tool like GTmetrix to analyze them and see what needs improving. That has a lot of helpful information, and maybe it can point to what is causing the slowdown. Best of luck!

Before you pay for anything more I'd run through 3 free online tests.
1. A page size analyses. Some badly embedded objects can really slow things down, even hidden ones.
2. Run a speed test on pages for comparison.
3. Test at w3c. You'll need a tech savvy person to understand the results.
3.1. If there's JavaScript, Python, PHP etc. in the Header check for differences. Accidentally deleting something small and copy/pasting is common and critical.
Good luck.
