I have recently been invited to record and produce drum tracks..
Let me know what you think of this. I haven't mastered it. Nor is it professional. Acoustic mics and electronic drums. I am nervous about the transition.

Not possible with that recording. The compressor 'pumping' is so intrusive that it becomes annoying and unpleasant. I can't focus on the drumming itself and whether it adds or subtracts from the overall musical sound picture.

It’s not a compressor they’re hearing. It’s just the fact that your kit doesn’t have any live resonance since it’s electric. So the trigger just stops and creates a distraction for the overall sound - if your kit has any way to add some decay or verb to it, that might be helpful to liven it up.
