Marian is 11 years younger than I. I used to have a beard. On day we were shopping and the clerk made a comment that basicaaly refered to Marian as my daughter! So yes, it makes you look older!
I shaved it off soon thereafter!

Generally, it does because people associate beards with older individuals I think. Especially if you have white or grey in it.
