Nuclear medicine. So applying for jobs outside of my field is very difficult because employers seem to want young employees or see me as “overqualified.” Thus probably hard to pay compared to younger people. :/ But that’s a huge assumption on their part. If I’m applying for something out of my field, I expect to earn starting pay.

I was unemployed for about a month in 2019. I didn't like my job at Walmart and I had plenty of money saved up so I quit and got a job at a factory. I had to wait a bit for orientation, since I had to get a background check done. I get payed more and I get weekends off too. Though last year I was on a every other week schedule for a bit because of covid.

The longest I have been unemployed wad 6 years due to health issues, hated it too. I love working it keeps me moving and productive but that was many moons ago. I've been employed since but recently I'm unemployed due to "poor management". I've been getting a lot of interviews but no takes, I have a virtue interview (omg I hate those) on mo day but I am really hoping to get a call from Cabela's because they have so much to offer in hopes to getting my own place. I wish you.luck wildmaven I hope something comes up for you. 🦋

I cannot seem to get hired and it’s so frustrating. I’ve worked since I was 13 (I am 56 now) and I have always had steady employment until the pandemic. I hate not feeling productive. 😕 I couldn't agree more, it has become harder to get hired on anywhere. Which, in and of itself is very strange considering "no one wants to work" However, I have been employed at an undisclosed retailer for 13 years before leaving...

I think that it is less an issue of "no one wants to work", it's more that people don't want to work in the types of jobs that desperately need them. wildmaven is talking about a very specific type of job, and I think it is always difficult to find new work in something specific. Also the sad fact is the most of world sees anyone over the age of 50 as "over the hill" and not worth a new job, or even to keep the one they have. And it has pretty much been that way since there were cavemen!

And NOTHING is around.. Maybe in another state, but I can't move. I get that.

I had a nice unplanned vacation between last March and June 1st 2020, when they brought me back to work. Hard to believe that was a year ago!
