The Avatar Maker was dependent on Adobe Flash. Since Adobe retired Flash in the beginning of this year, the Avatar Maker no longer functions. To the best of my knowledge, there are currently no plans to replace it. (Perhaps one of the ProBoards Admins has more information on this matter.)

If you would like to hide the "Default Avatar" and the links to the Avatar Maker, you can place this at the bottom of the Style Sheet for your theme(s).
