1965 Chevy Malibu convertible, 327 V8, Power Glide transmission, silver. It was sweet. I've owned two ragtops (A Thunderbird and a Mustang). Horrible in inclement weather but when the weather is good and the top is down, there's nothing better! My first car was a 1963 Chevy Bel Air wagon. The 283 V8 and PowerSlush transmission was wimpy for a vehicle of that weight. It was a total rust-bucket. The chalked-out green almost looked like military olive drab. My friends called it 'The Tank'. I paid 50 bucks for it, replaced the points, plugs, brake shoes, changed the oil and flushed the cooling system. Put about 10,000 miles on in it in six months then had it hauled away to the junkyard. It was a raggedy piece but provided freedom and we made some great memories.
